Improvement in Strength of High Concentration Corson Alloy with the Heterogeneous-Nano Structure

Effects of pre-aging Corson alloys with high concentrations Ni and Si (Cu–4.2 mass%Ni–0.93 mass%Si) followed by heavy cold rolling full-aging on strengthening were systematically investigated. Especially, development heterogeneous-nano (HN) microstructure was focused. And the relationship mechanical/electrical properties precisely examined. The pre-aged exhibited a considerable after 90% rolling. This attributed to increase in volume fraction deformation twin domains HN as well precipitation strengthening. sample prepared thermo-mechanical process via at 723 K, subsequent 673 K for 600 s best strength/conductivity balance an ultimate tensile strength (UTS) 1096 MPa electrical conductivity (E) 29% IACS. When examined effects solid-solution (SS) temperature properties, SS 1223 derived finer grain size than 1323 achieved UTS E 1061 33% Therefore, refinement prior had no significant effect but contributed modification conductivity.
